I CHOOSE not to be like a thermometer that only registers its environment.”This is a nice day.Things are good.People are kind” “This is a cold day. I had a flat tire. Somebody is mad at me.”
Today–I choose to be a thermostat that doesn’t register what’s going on in the environment but rather affects and brings comfort to the environment. I was at this place several times before but I woke up one morning and journeyed to the lowlands of self-centeredness and “it’s all about me” valley.
Today–I choose to return to Jesus, others, you (me, lastly). Today I put Jesus Christ back into the center of my life. When I say the center I mean the bull’s eye of all my decisions will be “Will this honor Christ the most?”
Today–I will make God’s promises from His Word my foundation and my confidence and strength to run the Christian life with endurance to finish well.
Yes, for a couple of weeks I confess I’ve been in a hole. If you see yourself there, climb out with me. Let’s breathe the fresh air of the mountaintop of victory over self with Christ one day at a time. If you need a hand sometime, feel free to contact me (pastor@blueridgechurch.net).
